10 Reasons Our Detergent Chemistry Is Actually Different (and why your clothes and your washing machine will notice)
1. We Skipped the Petrochemicals Entirely
Conventional detergents lean on LABSAs (Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonic Acid) or SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate), which are both sulfates that leave residue behind and can kick off 1,4-dioxane. We use MES (methyl ester sulfonates) instead: same cleaning horsepower, made from renewable sources, no residue, no dioxane.
2. Six Enzymes. Most Brands Use Zero.
Enzymes are the tiny scissors that cut into stains surfactants can't touch — proteins, starches, fats. They're expensive, so most brands skip them. We put six different kinds to work in every wash: Cellulase, alpha-Cellulase, Protease, alpha-Amylase, Mannanase and Lipase.
3. Three Surfactant Types, Each With a Job
Many detergents lean on one surfactant and call it a day. Ours blends anionic (general dirt), nonionic (grease and oil), and amphoteric (keeps it all gentle) — because no single surfactant is built to do all three jobs well.
4. Full Strength in Cold Water
Our nonionic glycolipids and glucosides don't lose steam in cold water the way charged surfactants can. Translation: you don't need a hot cycle to get things clean.
5. First-to-Market on Glycolipid Concentration
Most "clean" detergents lean on alkyl polyglucosides as their green surfactant of choice. We went further. Our glycolipids are fermentation-derived, genuinely biodegradable, and carry a lower carbon footprint than glucosides, while cleaning just as well.
6. Dirt Doesn't Get a Second Chance
Once soil is lifted off your fabric, it has to stay off. Otherwise, it just redeposits before the rinse. Conventional brands use acrylates (petrochemical-derived) to manage this. We use polysaccharide-based polymers instead, which wrap around loose particles and keep them suspended in the wash water.
7. Gentle Enough for Baby Clothes, Strong Enough for Grass Stains
Because our surfactants lift instead of penetrate, the formula is gentle enough for delicates and baby clothes, without asking you to trade away cleaning power.
8. We Left Out the Builders on Purpose
Ingredients like potassium carbonate are common "helper" additives that boost soap performance, but they're hard on fabrics, break down cotton over time, and aren't great for waterways once they're rinsed away. Our formula doesn't need them to work.
9. No Hidden Toxins, Full Stop
Free of LABS, sulfates, 1,4-dioxane, phthalates, DBDS, and the usual list of laundry-aisle suspects, not as a checkbox, but because our surfactant and enzyme blend simply doesn't need them.
10. Redesigned From the Ground Up, Not Reformulated
We didn't tweak a conventional detergent recipe and swap out a few ingredients. We rebuilt what a detergent can be: biobased, innovative, and engineered for real cleaning power without a single petrochemical.

from our founder
Cleaning routines often feel like chores; the result might be rewarding, but the process is anything but.
Not to mention that the products we use are wasteful, poorly designed and usually toxic to the environment and ourselves.
AND, mostly only marketed to women, exacerbating the household gender gap. It's 2024, let's get with the times.
We set out to create a new paradigm in home care. A brand with sustainability at its core, that blends the intention of design with the spirit of wellness, and invites everyone to clean - not just women.
Our gentle on the Earth products were created for you to reimagine daily cleaning as an enjoyable sensory experience, one that's counter-worthy, gift-worthy and you-worthy. Thanks for being a Good Guest. I hope you enjoy our products as much as we do.
