About D.S. & DURGA
Founded by husband-and-wife team David (D.S.) and Kavi (Durga), the Brooklyn, NY-based fragrance house believes that the power of scent is equal to that of sight and sound.
We love them for their highly unconventional fragrances and unique storytelling approach to scent. They believe that great perfume is a keyhole into another realm; an invisible landscape that you can enter and explore any time.
All of their scents are made in-house. David is a self-taught perfumer who created his own aromatic language - a rarity in the perfume industry. Kavi is a trained architect who builds buildings for their scents and cities for the brand's universe.

What does it smell like?

Is it HE compatible?
Yes, it is HE compatible and cold-water optimized, meaning the enzymes and biosurfactants are fully active at lower temperatures, so you can wash effectively in cold water and save energy in the process.
It is also low-foam and fully compatible with HE (high-efficiency) washing machines.
What makes this laundry detergent different from other natural or plant-based detergents?
Most natural laundry detergents rely on glucosides, a plant-derived surfactant that's an improvement over petrochemicals, but still energy-intensive to produce.
Ours goes further: we are first-to-market with a laundry detergent at this concentration of glycolipids, a next-generation class of biosurfactants that deliver deep, fabric-safe cleaning with a lower carbon footprint than glucosides.
Combined with a corrected enzyme blend that breaks down stains at a molecular level without degrading natural fibers over time, it's a genuinely new approach to how laundry detergent works, not just a cleaner version of the conventional formula.
What makes this detergent different from conventional detergents?
We leave out a lot of the common toxins of conventional detergents:
- No Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonates (LABS)
- No 1,4-Dioxane
- No Amines
- No Added Preservatives
- No Free Fatty Acids
- No Chelators
- No Parabens
- No Sulfates
- No Phthalates
- No DBDS
- No TEA, MEA
How concentrated is this detergent and how many loads does it do?
Very concentrated. One pump dispenses 5ML of detergent, and a standard load is 10-20ML.
For larger, or heavily soiled loads, use 25-30ML.
The precision pump dispenser makes it easy to use exactly the right amount every time, so there's no waste and no guesswork. A common problem with conventional detergents that leads to overuse and product buildup on fabrics.
