From the outset of developing Guests on Earth, scent was a key priority. The traditional category has convinced us that cleaning is meant to smell either overly toxic (chemical, that is), or overly zesty… like the juices of 10,000,000 lemons. We knew we wanted to offer fragrances that are completely unique to home care.
We prioritize fragrance because we believe that scent plays a crucial role in the overall product experience. Scent has the power to transport you in an instant. A scent can take us back to a specific fond travel memory, or to a time period in your life, or to a person.
In the case of Guests on Earth, we use scent to enhance the overall cleaning experience from one of necessity to one of enjoyment.
Our two signature scents are made from all-natural ingredients, meaning that all of our fragrances are found in plants and we do not synthetically modify them. The majority of our fragrance ingredients are naturally-derived essential oils, which are made from steaming or pressing different parts of plants (e.g. flowers, bark, leaves, fruit) to capture the compounds that produce fragrance.
We chose essential oils as the base of our fragrance for their aromatherapy properties and smooth texture, particularly notable in our foaming hand soap.
We reference our fragrances as landscapes, to nod to the powerful effect that scent has on our mindset and mood.
Desert Dawn is a refreshing citrusy oasis - think: spa. It’s a brighter fragrance, featuring citrus and mint (energizing scents) as top notes, lavender and rose (floral) as middle notes, and fennel and cedar (cooling, earthy) as bottom notes.
Landscape: A Refreshing Desert Spa
Dunes at Dusk is a spicier, woodsy scent, featuring pine and rosemary as top notes (refreshing), sage and patchouli as middle notes and clove, sandalwood and vetiver rounding out the base.
Landscape: A log cabin in the woods; A calming woodsy landscape
We hope you enjoy our fragrance profiles as much as we do, and we look forward to bringing you continued luxurious cleaning experiences via fragrance.
